I was a sorcerer in AD&D. Here I hope to be interesting--at least to someone.

Too Many Injuries Lately.

OK, I see that I need to be more careful when I’m working. At home, at work, wherever I’m moving or lifting things, I must be more careful. I’m intelligent enough to realize that when I’m told by qualified physicians that I have limitations, I should listen to them. I’ve got a reasonably functional memory, so I should remember that hot things can burn, and heavy things, when dropped, can hurt. I’m also aware of the simple movements that can keep a minor injury from becoming catastrophic.

So why is it that I don’t think of these things until after I’ve injured myself? What must I do in order to prevent more physical (and medical) problems? Goodness knows, I have too many already!

In the last week, I’ve managed to scald myself (1st degree burn only), twist my ankle getting into my car (?), and overextend my already irritated wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome). What’s next? Can I expect to mow over my foot? Will I concuss my head while slipping in the shower? Will I break my back while falling down the basement stairs? Will I lean against the wrong piece of glass on the observation deck of the Sears Tower and plunge to my death (splat! or boi-oi-oing!)?
